Let me start with a confession: I hate realtors !!!! Well, I guess I should say: I hated realtors until I met Charisse Okomato. To me realtors were fake, self-interested, dishonest, money grabbing, useless intermediaries (and I am restraining myself ). Charisse has been the complete opposite: She is genuine, honest, transparent, extremely useful and resourceful. She spent countless hours kindly answering the many (many !!!) questions we had from the most naïve to the most minute. Because we live in New York, she travelled all around Orange county and the Los Angeles area to show us houses on video. She was a key source of information and advice during our negotiations and during the escrow process (we are first time-clueless buyers). The cherry on top is that, after we closed on the house, when she no longer had any realtor commitment to us, Charisse graciously drove an hour during the weekend to help us fix the fence, bringing her own tool and ending up doing most of the work. Who does that? BTW, we bought a relatively inexpensive house by LA’s standards, so her commission was clearly not her prime motivation. All this to say that next time we buy/sell a house, I will beg her to take us as clients.… and so should you!!!
